Seven Story Fall’s Epic “Nightmare” VS. The World

Seven Story Fall. Why that’s nothing! A 17 year old boy just jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge for fun. For fun! Not to kill himself. For fun. Jackass can retire now, after this their antics are officially tame. And the kid is fine! He wasn’t doing it to get hurt. I guess he never got the memo that jumping of the GG is the most famous, iconic way to commit suicide, in the world? Whatever. I’m pretty sure he likes music like this. Seven Story Fall out of Atlanta, GA makes some testosterone-overdosed rock, with gr8 screamo and cookie-monster vocals sandwiched between pretty power pop hooks and epic guitar parts. This is how they like it in the extreme skateboard bungee-helicoptering, BMX lion-jumping, leaping off of bridges crowd. A “Nightmare” never sounded so good. From “Quickstar Productions Presents Vs the World, Vol. 7.” Enjoy responsibly.

Darkly Rockin’ In The Rain with Dementia Pre-Show

Leonard Cohen meets Nick Cave at The Cult’s house. The wailing lead guitar has me shredding air style. Gorgeous, epic, massive. Substantial, even. And in the endless cold we’ve been having this season I nee me some giant goth to keep me warm. This is Gr8.

Rude City Riot gets had by bad Victoria

Rude City Riot – “Victoria”

A gleeful tale of woe and woo, told in ebullient third wave ska punk rapture. Did I form that sentence? I did. This is power pop the way the kids do it now, try and keep up, Opa.

Mile Marker 7 lays down a subtle milstone

Mile Marker 7 – “Here We Go”

This song really floats my boat. Kinda almost jam band-y slacker zen self-help advice. I mean that in a good way! Acoustic reggae-ish bouncy funky rock, and there’s even a hint of that Jerry Garcia guitar effect for you footbagging hitch-hikers. Enjoy the ride and don’t get too hung up on the little stuff.
