My Education – “Oars” (play)
The weather this spring in Oakland has been unpredictable and strange. Late rains, nights of summer heat, East Coast-like moments of humidity. Mother earth herself has become moody. Here in the spirit of all of the above is a meandering musical journey that sounds like the inside of a brewing storm. Huge masses of guitar loom at the outskirts of town, great towering drum clouds expand and boil with the wind, while epic flocks of unnamed birds squawk and hurl themselves northward. Well that’s what I hear in it anyway. A mighty instrumental monsterpiece from the Texas band, My Education. Enjoy.
