Allo, kittins. Your Superfan has been away. Absent. AWOL. Remiss. But I have returned, to make a few more posts to finish up another year of this labor of love. This is one for all you lo-fi dissonance lovers. Enjoy with crandberry sauce. Phoning it in from the ranch, amongst the relations. It’s good to be home.

Have you seen the Are You A Hipster flowchart? It provides quick and ready answers to one of the fundamental questions vexing the youth of today. I thought of it today when I found this piece of softly narcotic synthesizer malaise. This is the sound of carrot juice, heroin, and clove cigarets, in the hands of an art student with considerable debt. And only a hipster or hipster wannabe or perhaps a hipster in denial would ever think to blog about such a thing. I certainly would never.. Oh wait.. Doh!

Begin the worshiping process as M+A’s whispered druggy sex insidiousness works its toy piano magic. Oh gawd they had to put a trumpet there, kill me nicely, oh dear. What is it with me and lone trumpets and trippy make-out music lately? Is it the season? Anyway, I really like M+A’s “Liko Lene Lisa” like, I really like, like, I want to snuggle it like a kitty and such. So there you have it.

Leave it to Jah Wobble to facilitate a merger of Jamaican dub music with Japanese traditional instruments and vocals reminiscent of Shinto religious ceremonies. What? No, really. It works, it works well, and it’s rather beautiful. This is my Sunday musical offering and I’m quite pleased with it.

Bears are good. Indie rock bands and song titles with “bear” in them are extra good. Songs about a Syrian brown bear cub found in Iran and adopted by soldiers of the 22nd Artillery Supply Company of the Polish II Corps are extra super good. And that’s what we have here, by the Fighting Kites. Proggy fab instrumental weirdness, with guitars reminiscent of Tom Verlaine and Robert Fripp. Snuggly, but dangerous.
