UK duo NAPT have been working hard over the last couple of years personally branding their own breakbeat niche called: N-Funk. They take elements of breaks, electro, and whatever else they feel like, and turn it into tracks that will light up the dance floor. Their latest remix, Ce Loo’s single “Fuck You,” takes Gnarls Barkley’s vocalist anti-gold digger lyrics and punishes it with bass ladened kicks and stabbing synths.

Alternating between simmering and manic, “Mind Shop Is On Sale” has an ominous edge framing dissonant, noisy guitars and a grinding rhythm section. Muscle Snog brings it all together to create a coherent energy from swirling chaos. Tremendous.

MOOOORE!

This track makes me feel like I’m inside a music box. That’s not a bad thing. The novel cast of instruments lay down a great bed for flawless and unique vocals to rest. Original and beautiful.

Here’s an early-ish track from Del which has survived numerous iPod purges here. “In the terminal burnin’ all MC’s brains,” he explains.

“Revolution!” fro Boston’s Damone brings me back to the 80’s when Lita Ford was hot, but this brings a new twist to the chick rock theme. A hard, glam-metal sound with screaming gang vocals and catchy guitar riffs on a song that is fun, energetic and compelling. Rawk!!
