Goldie Looking Chain are 4 blokes from Newport South Wales. I guess you say they rap. You can make comparisons to The Beastie Boys, but if you look at their tour blog you see they like to drink and party, just like me. “Famous As Fuck” are one of those random songs that you should have a copy of, plus, the song fucking knocks.

This is the kind of single that makes me wish hip-hop could produce product that is as all-around-dope as, “My CD Has A Scratch (feat. Salim).” Wendel Patrick is one of the true original production voices on the East Coast. His beats have turned the ear of hip-hop fans who listen to Company Flow as much as they listen to Kid 606. This track is going in my “all time favorite songs” list.

S.O.B. are one of the hottest young duos commin’ out of the LA underground. This track is off “The Precedent” comp that came out 2 years ago. Solid beats back the lyrics of Takbir and Ryu, and it has an almost has a Bronx’s year 1985 feel to it. Dig it.

From the time I discovered there was a world of great music seething beyond my brother’s record collection, I have spent the majority of my energy exploring music that is new to me. I grew up listening to hip-hop, electronic and jazz. By the time I was 14 I started bedroom DJing. During high school I started my perpetual mixtape quest. Eventually I amassed enough gear and dirty-used records to turn what should have been a laundry room into a home studio. Two of my songs where deemed worthy enough to be included in Fun Fun Fun Recording’s Mp3 Jackpot Winners Vol. 1 – Meditations (by a father), and Sick. It was during that exciting time that I first heard of MP3. I immediately saw how artist like myself would be able to exploit this new technology as a vehicle for delivering music straight to their fans. Subverse2ten is the latest median that I use for discovering, filtering and distributing new music to music fans who find themselves always slightly ahead of the curve. I still hold the same enthusiasm and love of new music as I did when I was a kid. I hope you enjoy the music you find here as much as I do.
