Joe Calicott was born and raised in and never left the small town of Nesbit, Mississippi. I guess you could say the blues came to him, and Uncle PD thanks the heavens for that! Joe had one of the most guttural deliveries in blues, yet he tamed that with beautiful natural vocal harmonics. “Fare Thee Well Blues,” one of his first recordings, has become very popular over the decades since its release, recently showing up on a number of blues CD compilations. And now we enjoy it on the latest file format – MP3. Enjoy!
