I like designer drugs.

Ok I admit it, I’ve never done a designer drug. I asked my 24 year-old chemist friend in Berkeley who has tattoos of the serotonin molecule on each of his forearms if 2CB is a designer drug. He said, “No”. The next time I take 2CB Mr. Hipster DJ better through on “Back Up in This (Nadastrom Remix)” cause NYC’s Designer Drugs have produced a slutty-slapper of a club tune that will be the perfect companion to my psychedelic ride.

From the time I discovered there was a world of great music seething beyond my brother’s record collection, I have spent the majority of my energy exploring music that is new to me. I grew up listening to hip-hop, electronic and jazz. By the time I was 14 I started bedroom DJing. During high school I started my perpetual mixtape quest. Eventually I amassed enough gear and dirty-used records to turn what should have been a laundry room into a home studio. Two of my songs where deemed worthy enough to be included in Fun Fun Fun Recording’s Mp3 Jackpot Winners Vol. 1 – Meditations (by a father), and Sick. It was during that exciting time that I first heard of MP3. I immediately saw how artist like myself would be able to exploit this new technology as a vehicle for delivering music straight to their fans. Subverse2ten is the latest median that I use for discovering, filtering and distributing new music to music fans who find themselves always slightly ahead of the curve. I still hold the same enthusiasm and love of new music as I did when I was a kid. I hope you enjoy the music you find here as much as I do.
